The Engadin lends itself to ski touring better than perhaps anywhere else. Nestled amid countless peaks above 3’000 meters, you can conquer virtually all of the nearby mountains with touring skis and skins. You will need a significant degree of stamina for the ascent and some skiing expertise for the ride back down.

For rookies, there are shorter routes that are not quite as difficult; for example, the tours to the Piz Lagrev, Piz Surgonda and Piz Dal Sasc. While the ascents do include steeper, more strength-sapping passages, the tours as a whole are also possible for more casual ski tourers.

Even ambitious ski tourers will work up a sweat on the tour to the top of Piz Palü: At a total length of over 15 kilometers, the tour leads into high-alpine terrain and elevations of almost 4'000 meters. Your reward is incomparable scenery and a magical downhill ride, alternating between hard ice at the very top and loose powder farther down. A must for all winter endurance athletes.

For all tours away from the secured pistes, skiers must exercise extreme caution due to the risks posed by avalanches and crevasses, while suitable equipment is an absolute must.
